This product was primarily made to allow the user to connect their DAWs to their digital mixers.

The user could record up to 34 tracks simultaneously and monitor the stereo mix from the DAW with headphones and studio monitors.

The user could also send 34 tracks from the DAW to the digital mixer for mixing. The stereo buss of the mixer was sent back to the DAW via the S/PDIF connector to record the stereo master track in the DAW. Again the stereo buss of the DAW could be monitored via headphones and studio monitors.

MIDI I/O allowed MIDI Time Code (MTC) to be sent to the digital mixer to trigger the automation.

BNC Word Clock I/O was also provided to sync the DAW and the mixer.

Many 8-channel microphone preamps with ADAT optical outputs were also on the market at the time. This combination also provided an easy way to record a live band.

Lastly, this product made it very easy to transfer up to 32 tracks of ADAT to a DAW simultaneously.

This product was very affordable and really the only product on the market to address these needs.
